Help Improve Society

2020.06.27

Hey, so I haven’t really voiced my opinion in the current state of the world involving black lives matter. Not for lack of wanting to, but it might’ve been because I didn’t think I was the right person to be speaking on these issues. Plus several others have voiced how best to help in a much better blog posts, as seen here

*Please read the blog posts linked above, they have FAR more valuable information than this post*

But maybe that’s also a problem? I’m not talking about it. So rather than be silent, I thought I’d provide some useful resources I’ve found during this time to educate myself. Because although I am against racism, I can STILL work on improving myself, as well as you can too, moving forward.

So rather than reiterate what the amazing blog posts above already stated, I figured I’d quickly just share what I found.

1. Change starts with you

2. Identify your privilege

3. Help as best as you can
As a coder I found a github repository cataloging the various police brutalities happening in the states, and I intend on contributing to this when I can and suggest you do too.

If you don’t know how to contribute I’ll write a quick blog post on how to do that shortly after this.

But we can also donate (whatever amount we can) to the following:

A far more comprehensive list can be found here: Where to Donate to Help People Fighting for Racial Justice

5. Discover and support amazing content creators

There are several others out there, but these are the ones I enjoy for the my specific interests.

Anyways, I hope this inspires you to take action in whatever means you can.

Nobody’s perfect, but we can all find a way to improve ourselves. <3
